When my locs were 7 months old, I had so much fun experimenting with different unique styles that somewhat camouflaged the fuzzy stage my hair was going through. I was washing my hair every two weeks at this point and I was retwisting twice a month. For those of you experiencing the fuzzy, not so neat stages (which may fall anywhere from 5 months to 8 months of locking), I totally suggest shifting your focus to styling your hair.
Good luck on your journey and stay confident. You'll have good days and bad days with your hair; some day's you love it and other days you'll rethink why you decided to lock your hair in the first place. All those thoughts and feelings are normal. =) Just remind yourself of all the reason's why you wanted to lock your hair (it's a good idea to make a list that you can reread when your having doubts along your journey). If you document your journey through pictures or videos, go back and look at how your hair was in previous months. See how much progress you've made and remember that your locs will continue to grow, change, and develop over time. =)
Try out styles you wore with your loose natural hair or with your relaxed hair. If you pinned your hair a certain way then, you can probably recreate a revamped version of those same styles. Just have fun! Don't let the fuzziness get to you. The funny thing is, other people never see your hair the way you do. So when YOU choose not to focus on how your locs look at this stage, no one else will focus on it either. I hope some of the styles I created inspire you to have fun and experiment with you hairstyles! =)
